I will definitely check it. Do they prefer softer water like South American or harder like African? I ask because I know my water straight outta the faucet is naturally harder. I dunno the exact number but I've tested it before a while ago

My rutilus seems to prefer PH neutral, soft water. I can't speak to your highland giant's preferences; they may well be different.

Haha that's the plan. What sucks is that it chills in the back of the tank where it's pretty much impossible to get the pellets to him without having the current blow the pellets away.
