Do you have to have a sump or is just a large filter fine?Cause some websites only say filters and some say sumps and filters so I was wondering which one was better.

A large Sump or a couple of Sumps would be my choice over any other filter. Sumps are effective, efficient, and simple to perform maintenance. Filters such as the Cannister Filter will be hard to maintain a lower Nitrate level vs a Sump because of the gunk that the Cannister Filter holds until you clean them out.

here are some pics of the parents of my first marble motoro. First one is the father and the rest are big mamma. The tank she is in, in the photo is 2’ high to give perspective of how big she is. These pics were taken over a year ago and she is even bigger now.

motoros are good for beginner keepers but they do get large.

what type of filter media do you need to put in the sump? since rays live in rivers how strong of a power head would you suggest?
