new here, my rhom....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
just be careful with nightcrawlers. they have a tendency to tunnel into the gravel or substrate you are using, drown and foul your water. What you think he is eating might actually just be hiding.

nice rhom!

+1 on ditching the comets. Not beneficial at all in terms of keeping a healthy piranha and its just a matter of time before he catches some parasite of some kind.
Nothing like losing a $60 dollar imported fish to a $.25 feeder. Happened to me with my old sanchezi.
I'd recommend picking up a bag of frozen silversides from petsmart and going that route.

lol, i feel bad telling you guys after reading what your all paying for fish...this guy cost me 7$ at the local aquarium store:)

That's why he is the size that he is. the feeder comets you are giving him are slowing down his growth. I would stick with the night crawlers they are much higher in protein and will not slow down his growth. I would also treat him with prazi pro.. He might have intestinal worms, that would also negatively impact his growth.. All on all it's a nice specimen though..

:iagree:

Yeah, they're usually don't cost alot when they are under 2"......$7.00 is pretty cheap though.
Its a gamble though buying them at that size because its pretty much impossible to ID them from species to species.

He ate in front of me today:) I guess moving him up to my dresser in my room is making him less shy then having his own room. Everytime i get dressed i move around him. Today when i thru in his food he swam out and chowed it down right in front of me.

Is that a 29 gal tank get him a bigger tank and powerheads to make him more active he will come out easier and faster i would get him on filet shrimp and buy some cheap convict pairs and put them in the tank they will breed and he would have a snack anytime he wants one helps him settle in fast too
