He is in a 10 gallon holder tank ATM while i remodel my living room and dining room, He was raised in a 55 gall. Oddly he seems happier in the small tank. He is not a very entertaining fish. even in the big tank he mostly shoved himself in between some plants and wouldnt move at all during daylight hours. In two years ive never gotten him to eat while im watching. He eats a ton, but he wont do it when anyone is near. He has uber eyesite and will stare at me if there is food in the tank. Even if i stand across the room and stand perfectly still for 10-15 minutes. I been feeding him some leftover nightcrawlers this week, he wont eat them with me in the room, but ill drop them in, go wash my hands and come back and they will be gone...but if i stay there he wont touch it.

This is a fact with most Rhoms,they seem to like smaller tanks(smaller territories to defend)i have a Gold diamond Rhom and have used minimal decor in the tank(1 big rock)he has learned to become brave and stays out in the open all day and eats right in front of me.He is 5.5"

Rhoms grow anywhere from half an inch to an inch a year,so actually you got pretty good growth on him so far.
