Haha! That's what my friend said. Before I got the fish, I sent him a photo of the rock work, and he asked me what was going in the tank. I told him mbuna, and his response was "why?". He was hoping I do Tanganyikans i think.
It's actually perfect for Mbuna though, they love rocks all the way up to the water line.

Yeah, I did a similar tank in the past when I was in high school and I noticed even displaced males would hold territories near the surface if they could.

How is the tank progressing?
Any algae growing?
Any death matches?

Yeah some diatoms growth on the rocks has been hanging around annoyingly. Only fish I've lost is 1 auratus. Found it stuck to the overflow tonight. I will try and get some pics tomorrow.

Here is a little update from tonight. As you can see from the photos, Diatoms have taken over the rocks. However, the fish are coming along nicely and really settling in.
