I looked into that, but the the bulkhead wouldn't have very many threads showing after going thru the tank and the box (1 1/8").
Why not just put a 4th side on the overflow box and use the bulkheads to adhere it to the tank?

Got the return plumbing pretty much installed. Ended up purchasing a 2nd reef octopus pump and ran a 3rd line with a single random flow generator as an output. I assembled and installed the overflow box. I really hope this works like I hope because between the low profile of the box and the size of the euro brace, I can't really do much with the bulkheads and plumbing. I just ordered a Univeral Rocks Malawi background which should be in around 3 weeks from now. We are starting to get close.

I would suggest moving theses ball valves lower, if they are too high the full syphon will have a hard time getting going properly, and you won't get the full gph out of the plumbing. You will also hear a trickling sound from all the water after the ball valve running through the plumbing. lowering the ball valves will make the drain run more silently.(They really should be gate valves)

Plumbing is up and running. Doing flow and leak checks. Got a tote set up as a stand in for my sump. Tank is about 1/2" out of level sitting in garage, but for this test its fine.

Sorry I've been slow with the updates. We moved the tank in last weekend. It took 6 of us to move the tank into the house. After the glass was added, the thing got super heavy. We ended up having to put it on 2x4s and roll it on pipe to get it into the living room. Got the holes drilled thru the walls and got the sump up and running. Tonight, the fish have been added!!!! The water is still pretty cloudy due to the new substrate, and I still have to put doors and trim onto the stand, but otherwise, we are nearly done. Such a long project, but its been a great experience. Everything took about 5x longer than I was expecting, but I wanted to do things right and not rush things. The fish seem pretty stoked to be able to actually swim for a distance without running into a wall.
