New pick up - green polyps

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They seem a little dull, or is it becuase they are not in a big group? What can I do to help? Going to do a Wc today I might get some Xenia. Lfs said I don't need to feed them pods either. Did some research and seems they are right? Is that correct?

Like I said, takes time, and sometimes takes alot. None the less I'm glad to hear they opened, it would have been a bit disheartening to lose your first coral. Assuming the other heads didn't die, they should probably open sooner or later, but its not as big a rush since they share nutrients.

Awesome thanks i can already see 3 more opening and another one just opened all the way. What nutrients do they eat? Can I dose that? Think I could pick up some Xenia today? I'm going to do a 4g water change right now. Xenia & green star polyps eat the same thing right ?

Phytoplancton or Brine shrimp nauplii should probably work, I wouldn't feed them for a couple more days though, just let them settle in a bit more first, also, they don't need to be fed that often as they are quite photosynthetic, just like Xenia don't need heavy feedings either, and yes you could probably add some Xenia with no problems.

Thanks again Kevin going to add some "pom pom" Xenia he has ill start off with a small stock worth $10. Just before I left tested the water no3 was 0 and everything else was perfect. so you think next week would be fine to start feeding? Maybe like once a week? When you feed photo plankton you then off the Skimmer correct? For about 2 days?

I wouldn't turn it off for 2 days... a couple of hours should be fine. once a week is enough, yes feeding next week should be fine.
