What?

It's pretty much a fact to most cichlid keepers that most fish stores selling Trimacs have them miss labeled. A local fish store once sold a fh as a Grade A Trimac. Because the person who traded in said he bred it with a Grade A fh and a Trimac. This sounds very stupid but it really happened. Unless it came from a reputable dealer it's always a FH.

I dnt see how only reputable dealers can only sell trimacs, :/ siunds abit silly if you ask me, what if some 1 has a pair and they bred, needed to off load the fry, so they sold them to the lfs, does that then make the fry, FH fry ? NO lol , odds are what i have is a FH but i doubt ONLY reputable dealers are selling trimacs

that's true.

One pair of cichlid can produced hundreds of babies. If it's not sold by your favorite internet vendor, doesn't mean it's any less. Where vendors get them from does anyone question? lol some get them from their local breeders.
Not all the best girls are on the internet either. There are millions of them dont have time to show themselves to the public. And human don't multiply by hundreds.

I know long time hobbyists who keep wild and pure breeds fishes and when they get fry, they unload at the lfs. Either feed to their larger fish, to lfs, or sell/giveaway. Internet isn't the only source for fish. And once a Cichlid is in captivity, they arent rare anymore(breeding by keepers)!

Not everyone enjoy fish keeping the same. I enjoy it the joyful way. Not the trying to destroy the joy from the fish kind of way. If I do that, I will assume all fishes are Hybrids until DNA are checked. Even the ones from the reputable sellers. Even the wild fishes. Because all that crap is from word of mouth and no paper of blood work to prove anyway.
 
So some body mentioned they use two types of trimaculatus to create s FH. What do they look like ? Because i mainly see these types (attached below) i bought a FH afew weeks ago but the salvini i had killed it, what FH was it ?

highly debated where the fh strain truly comes from, but do you mean two types of amphilophus not trimac?

That does not look like a pure Trimac. 100% sure it's a FH

None of your fish got paper to prove they are pure do they? They are most like hybrids you keep also.

U can only say "I got it from". :ROFL:

Even in the wild, did you hire some Mermaids to make sure all fish stay in their race and not hybridize? You know nothing about what happens.

The person you get it from is your daddy and lies to you you wont even know.. Wow youre sooooo smart. And it's the same fish you get a a lfs. LOL

>.< I don't even know how to reply.. FH are big sellers and are continuously made. There is no reason to suspect, say my managuense, is a hybrid because they are not a common occurrence. FH however outnumber trimacs in the aquarium.

As for cross breeding in the wild, LOLOL
