Was the QT a fresh setup using seeded media or seeded filters from other systems. Or did you pull water out of one of your larger tanks? If so keep an eye on water as it will still go through a cycle.
My quarantine always stays running with my fahaka which also has a high metabolism. I just remove him when I want to quarantine a ray.

it was setup Saturday i recieved the flower on Tuesday. When i set it up Saturday i used a large pbass to make sure it was cycled.. i used 100% water from existing setup, and used media from my sump. However i tested ammonia and nitrite and it was 0. Since it was existing water and nitrates were probably high i did a 50% the day i recived the Flower.

Your worm chunks might be to big. Is he showing interest in them at all? I had to cut the nightcrawlers up in 1/4" or smaller pieces or they would chew and spit out. After about 4-5 days they would take bigger ones. Then after a week would take whole trout worms. My pair is eating frozen shrimp already and have only had them a month. My first flower loved ghost shrimp so try some of those.

He is not doing very well I'm afraid. Not showing any interest in worm and seems to be breathing very slowly. I'm not sure what the problem is, tested the water it is in good shape. Sometime overnight my heater quit and the temp in the Q tank dropped to76 degrees which I am sure did not help, but even before that last night he was showing no interest in worms.
On the second night after i got him he was very interested in the worms, but am starting to doubt he actually ate and the filters did. But he would for sure chew on them.

I am going to run to petsmart and get some ghost shrimp shortly.

Stress is probably the main factor but you will have to find what is the cause of it. Is the ray sick, is it the water, or is it the temp? Do you have any salt in the tank or prazi. I would say with the weak filtration salt would be the only thing I would add. I prazi'd a new ray last year on a 2 week old QT system and the system melted. Water went cloudy and the end result was a dead ray.

i have not added anything. I may add a little salt, i am at petsmart getting ghost shrim so we will see if that will get him eating again. I did another small water change before i left, to slightly warm the water

Try live/whole pan/troutworms, with ghost shrimp. The worms will live quite a while in the water plus the
activity of the worms might draw his attention. Plus leave the lights off, I essentially left my lights
off for the first 3-4 days.

it looked like he chewed on some worms a little while a go, then left them alone, not sure if he is eating the ghost shrimp yet. He seems to be breathing better now and is atleat moving around. I will go to walmart and get some trout worms. I have always had better luck with nightcrawlers cut in 1/4" pieces.

Don, are you feeding whole trout worms?
