No they don't and no its not fine.

They live on packed dirt. Sand can and will cause impactions in younger beardies.

That would be interesting as far as the dirt,does anyone keep them that way I wonder.DANG IT!!!!!my dog was dreaming and let out a loud bark and scared the stuff out of me,lol

I think I agree on babies,they tend to eat anything like garbage disposals but I did have sandfire contact me and say they have been breeding on sand throughout their entire career.Go figure.

My guy is on sand as well. I said young Beardies...once they get bigger, it is absolutely fine. Just not when they are young.
