On another note anyone know how much the different breeds of "Giant" Rhacodactylus Geckos generally cost?

Rhacodactylus leachianus run anywhere from $300-$500 a piece depending on the sex, color and local.

Im not just going to go out and buy the first rare animal I can find. This is ridiculas im just asking for suggestions. Any suggestions I find interesting I will look into to see if its the kind of pet I would like to own and care for. By "rare" I dont mean one of a kind just abnormal and not something you would see walking into a chain pet store. And since when does "rare" mean wild caught? Would you consider a pet fox or even pet bob cat rare? Well I know of a guy who captive breeds them. Im not interested in destroying the rain forest believe it or not. I just want to keep spmething more unique which is my personal preference. If you want to keep something run of the mill by all means go ahead but get off my back and your high horse for having my own opinnion.

When I start saying im going to buy an aligator and keep it in my closet than by all means chew me out a new one but if im just looking for a unique pet either give me a suggestion and maybe where I could find a captive breed species or click the nextthread button at the bottom of the page.

i dont think hes mad at you,I think he just is meaning rare as more not a leo,bearded,tokay,ball,RTB and so on,thats why hes interested in the giant geckos.I think they would be a good choice,they dont have many babies at a time and they take like 3 or 44 years I think to mature so they are still high priced but I may rob a bank someday to get some,lol.JK......................Blue tongue skinks are not rare but not everyone hase them,their are some harder to get ones,sky high prices though.You can look at bluetongeskinks.com.............alot of the less comon stuff is less comon for reasons,usualy either harder to breed,price,or they dont realy make the best herp for handeling,better for displays.You mainly looking at lizards?

did someone say those big ugly frogs were over 10 grand?I wouldnt pay that much for Kermit the frog if Miss Piggy came with him nude wearing stilettos.

I honestly wouldnt even want one of those frogs a big wet behemoth who must eat cat and dogs does not sound like a fun pet to me. To each there own I guess


Im looking into an ackie monitor. Not rare I know but its not a savannah so its more what im looking for and ive heard they have good temperments and seem to stay much smaller than most monitors. Anyone know a price range for these guys? I cant find any prices online.

Also what about a lace monitor? Im about 99% that they cost over $1000 but let me know if im wrong!

theres always ackies on kingsnake. i would check there. i beleive lace monitors are over 1000 as well. but they are nice looking.
