Thanks for the tip.

I have got a hot water outside tap for car washing and I was filling with hot water but it is massive (about as big as one person can lift when wet) so I eventually added it to the tank)

Each water change leaves me with clearer water so I hope it will slowly clear based on lots of large water changes.

You shouldnt use the hot water tap for anything to do with the tank as i goes throw a whole load of things before it comes out of the tap

have you not noticed that sometimes its a bit milky when you 1st turn it on and you wouldnt drink it would you i wouldnt thats for sure

What do you mean by that richard, what is harmful in hot water as i fill my wc container up with 50% RO and the tap water and age it and mix it for 24 hours before i use it or is this to do with a hot water tank as opposed to a combi boiler?

steve

the way i look at water is if you wont drink it then i wont use on my tank

i wouldnt drink hot water from the tap or make tea with it and i wouldnt drink bath room tap water as that sits in a tank and its not alway fresh

each persons house is diffrent but i wouldnt use hot water from my house to clean things are use for water changes

I will get some sump pics up as soon as I have tidied the wiring.

I only used hot water to fill containers to soak the wood for a few weeks BEFORE going in to the tank. The hot water came from a 3 yr old combi boiler with very little copper anywhere in the system. The wood was then soaked for 2 days in cold.

I would not drink hot tap water from a bathroom as they often are fed from tanks in the roof where birds etc could fall in and grow harmful bacteria.

Some people also have issues with the copper content of old pipe work in hot water systems in old houses. I do not have any hot going in to the tank and I have tested for copper and it is not a problem, my f/w feed to the tank comes directly off the stop cock which is fed by plastic mains pipe and a tiny amount of metal, it is plumbed in plastic from there.

Thank you for picking up on this though.

I picked up the Rays from Aquaman45 on Sat a.m. and I have to say that his tanks were beautifully kept and I would even say clinical conditions. His collection is wonderful and he is a brilliant bloke to deal with. I have never seen such wonderful rays before and the pics do not do justice to the real thing.

The Rays are settling in well and I will post up some pics soon.

After the 3.5hr home journey I tested the water and there was zero Ammonia in their travel boxes so I offered some food while dripping them and they ate whilst still in the boxes! There is a lot ot be said for a purge before travel!

My little marble motoro is such a pretty girl, I hope she stays that way!

Here are some pics from when I opened the travelling boxes so they have coloured up a bit since, I will try and do some "in tank" pics over the weekend.

Pearl is Male and Motoro is female (she is only 3-4 months old) The Pearl had a small dad and Aquaman does not think he will grow in to a monster and predicts that the little girl will be be bigger then him within 18 months.

HMMM, the upload function is not uploading, I will try again very soon
