Honestly at this point it is a waiting game. Keep up the daily water changes. Read up on what prime does. It should be handling the ammonia even if there are still readings. I would add a little aquarium salt to help with the bites.
Don't give up just keep doing the water changes. Piranha are pretty hardy. You haven't lost any have you? If you get time plastic plants can help with line of sight. That should slow the nipping down. Don't give up.Am a week into setting up a 70gal tank. Trying to do it right this time and cycle it. But now where near ready for them to move. I feel like I'm failing. Their original home is ass, and I cant seem to fix it fast enough. ?
I work nights at the hospital so I'm worried about what I find when I get home.
I have been in this hobby for 25 years. I still make mistakes. You are doing what you can to rectify and correct for the future. Live and learn. You will be enjoying the tank soon enough.
No fatality as of yet. There does appear to be a pecking order. One is considerably smaller and has not been involved in any altercations. The other two are the nipped ones. The smaller one stays behind a rock in the back. Almost buried in the gravel.
Great to hear that. Yes definitely a pecking order the nipped fins will grow back. What are you feeding the little Piranha.
