New Reactor

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
These are great good find
They look bigger than 23" high. I just got to have one or two :grinno: I think two of these filled up with seachem matrix would work great with a prefilter running off the sump. Not to mention how Lush four of these tubes would look next to my sump.

Would you mind getting the actual dimensions for this unit? I am limited on space under my tank but I am having a tough time not ordering one of these units. I have a couple of locations that I think I can fit it.

Hope this helps it's from a online store website.

Nah, if I go for a smaller one I will just want the bigger one later on. I'm thinking that this unit will really help clear my tank up. It sucks to have a new tank and not be able to see through it.

I'm thinking that I can use a small pump into the reactor, then take that output into a UV and then back into the sump.

I'm just not sure what to run in it, not sure if I should just run charcoal or if I should use something different in the second chamber. Also, how long should the charcoal last?

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Seachem matrix on one side and purigen on the other. I want one but cant justify it for a 100 gallon. Unless I could set it up on both hundies.

Charcoal all depends on the quality of water and the charcoal it self. The seachem matrix is far and beyond any of the other I have used (Marineland aqua tech aqua clear bags fluval bags eheim pads) The matrix was absorbing mela fix after a month in my top fin 60 HOB lol I figured it was dead boy was I wrong. :nilly: it does not die.

I think I am just going to start out with carbon in both chambers until it clears the tank up. Hopefully it will do the job pretty quickly. Once the carbon dies I'll start worrying about what to put in it for the next time. I'm just trying to decide what pump to go with, I'm leaning towards a ViaAqua 1300. I've always had pretty good luck with ViaAqua pumps.
