New rescue, a true monster

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
He is a real monster indeed. I feel bad for the poor guy.

He should eat almost anything you feed him, GG aren't picky from what I have heard. HITH might have decreased his appetite.

Well, I finally got him to eat! He's rejected pellets, silversides, and the grapes but he is eating romaine lettuce if I rip it up for him into small pieces. He doesn't seem to have the energy to tear up a 14" leaf himself. I can't even describe how happy he seems to be able to swim around. He loves to swim back and fourth and play with the bubbles coming out of my sponge filter. I named him Paul. Heres some shots I snapped of him a few minutes ago.

Something I've noticed is that the light turning on and off doesn't affect him at all like it does every other fish I've ever owned. Paul is just one chill fish. He does go from dark grey to a almost white at random though. Is this normal in giant gouramis? His mood doesn't seem to change, just his color. I'm going to try to feed him some cucumber tomorrow.

I wish you luck with the PU. He's cool! Best tidbit of advice I can shell out is give him a varied diet but not too much dry food. Also water changes-water changes. HITH is a pain.
