New rescue, a true monster

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thats nice that you are going to give this fish a second chance.. especially that he has HITH.. let us know how it goes.. you may be able to help many fish keepers with what ever you discover that works for him... and if that does not happen then at least he will feel like he went to heaven in his new home.. he is a great fish..so i wish you the best..

Nice MONSTER my friend, clean water has always been the best treatment. Looks like the hith may be retreating (judging from the second set of pics)

your awesome for taking him home...and treating him as he should be treated... he looks like a Paul :)

thanks guys. The 130 is a decent size tank for him right now. He can turn around easily without touching the glass but I think I want to setup my 120 for him (4'x2'x2'.) Which tank do you think is better for him? The 120 has more room for him to turn around but its only 4' instead of 6' and to top it off theres like a 6-8" overflow in there too. I'm also wondering about suitable tankmates for him. I was thinking of a big chocolate cichlid but am not sure if he will apreciate the company. Right now he shares a tank with 2 uropthalmus (mayans) that are terrified of him. He doesn't show any interest in them though.

Wow nice gourami. I like him hope he heals.

Great rescue!!

What a great save. The left eye looks a bit suspect, but I would think it would heal up.

You've got a common GG there, looks like a male.

As for feeding, keep the veg up, they are veggies by nature but they will eat anything. At that size a lettuce will last about 2 sittings!
