Mine still has one stubby barbell,

One of mine is a day away from death already :(

One was fat and healthy looking the other was a little skinny but healthy looking. Both ate right outa the bag but the skinny one started shriveling up ???? His gills are all red and he aint looking so good.

I checked my water quality about 15 times with every test kit I got and its damn near PERFECT. I dont know why the one is fading away ???

Any ideas ????

Sounds bad. Sounds like what happens to most small pims that I get that want to die for no apparent reason. Might be internal parasites. I treated for this one time and it worked. Hence I still have the tsn that was like that.

What did you treat it with ???? One of my RTCxTSN guys had something similar when I bought him and he pulled thru. This guy I dont think will be so lucky though........

thanks....

I increased areation, and put salt, heat, and half dosed melafix. Worked, but not sure any of that had anything do with the survival!

Hmm good to know Cliff, I will definately add the melafix off the bat for safety and probably dose a little copper for any potential parasites. Hopefully mine will be here tomorrow ~Trent

Did you guys all order them from Fish Room Plus ???

One of mine died but the other is doing great. I too have noticed that some of these imported cats have a very high mortality rate when their 2-3".. It seems if they make it past 4" they are usually pretty tough. A lfs recently had a tank full of little RTC's for $15 each. Probably had 25 or more  Out of the whole batch I think 3 survived. And that was in a store that new what they doing !!!!

Good luck with your new cats guys, their pretty neat. Mine acts just like a regular RTC.

Mine came from Fish Room Plus. He had a little tail and fin rot and two really stubby whiskers but he is fine now, I didn't do anything for it other then keep the water super clean and he is a freakin cow now. I saw it really good the other night I think he is bigger then what I was thinking.
