Nice looking tank and stock! I had the same combo, but my Sen was an Albino. I was worried that a normal variant will get too big and eat the Congo Tetras. My friend liked my tank and did the same thing, but he said that his Albino took down a Congo Tetra. Just giving you fair warning since I know fish isn't a cheap hobby in Australia. Is that lump still there?

Thanks for your responses :)

Not entirely fussed if he eats the congos. I'd prefer he didn't but they only cost $6 here. So far he hasn't showed any interest in them.

Pump isstill there. Every now and then he swims erratically: swimming frantically into the glass, in circles etc. it scares me :( is this common?

My senegals used to do this as well. No worries :) Unless something is stressing it out.. Not in the tank but outside.

Sens are pretty active and swim erratically once in awhile if something spooks them.
As for the lump, it could be nothing, but get a closer shot if you can.

Ok so he has been swimming like that all day. I assumed when I got him that he would swim around lazily around the tank but mostly rest. The entire day he has been swimming around pretty fast - swimming along the glass, bumping his nose into the glass and flicking about.

Is this normal?

He is too quick at the moment to allow me to get a pic of the bump. It's still there. I think a bit of skin rubbed off (and formed the bump) during netting.
