Anyone know anything about the blacktip reef shark from Australian waters that maxes out at an adult size of 1.4 meters? pretty slim chance of me finding an australian requiem shark in new york though. Even more slim than me finding a port jackson (for under 1000bux).

Actually, I was just looking Black Tip, just in case you asked. I do remember seeing a site that had them for sale, but I don't remember the price though... sorry... I will keep looking and try to find it again. (Came across the site once when I was looking for a larger aquarium)

Im familiar with the blacktip and its habits/habitat. Theres a variety of blacktip, from Australia, that ive read stays smaller than blacktips from other locations. Thats what i was trying to get feedback on. Thanks for the site though, im gonna look at someother stuff on there. Never ran across that one before. Cant believe they have bull sharks.

Those are "standard" black tips that are regularly available. Capo's looking for a specific locale. I think that's also a finetooth (though a picture of a true bull shark) that they're calling a mini-bull.

Hoyo, i appreciate the help, very much.

That site has me laughing.

"Bull sharks get their name from their short, blunt snout, as well as their pugnacious disposition and a tendency to head-butt their prey before attacking. They are medium-size sharks, with thick, stout bodies and long pectoral fins. They are gray on top and white below, and the fins have dark tips, particularly on young bull sharks.
They are found cruising the shallow, warm waters of all the world’s oceans. Fast, agile predators, they will eat almost anything they see, including fish, dolphins, and even other sharks. Humans are not, per se, on their menus. However, they frequent the turbid waters of estuaries and bays, and often attack people inadvertently or out of curiosity."

Atleast bull sharks give you a heads up that youre about to be lunch.

lol - I just talked to the guy, because he had a couple of interesting rays on the website.

He had NO idea what animals I was talking about, or what he had in stock. Just rather disconcerting.
