new stringrays

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
just keep it barebottom for now... remove the gravel over a week... half in the begining half in the end.... keep your bio filter from going into shock...

I would ditch the pleco. They feed at night when you can't watch them and they do more than just suck the slime coat off. I saw a poor motoro of 4.5" with a half dollar size mark that was through the skin and into the meat. It was caused by a 2.5" scarlet pleco in one night.

I hear what all of you guys are saying about plecos and rays. But I have kept plecos and rays together for 4 years with NO INCIDENT. However, being a noob, it might be better to be safe than sorry. Either watch it closely, or ditch it. Its your call buddy.

Or it could be the other way around. I hate algae as I like my tanks perfectly clear so i used to keep 3 2" plecos with my tigers. After 2 weeks, all 3 were "missing".
