New tank cycle confusion

How'd you make out with this?

Thanks for asking, the goldfish I'm using to cycle is still doing well. Turns out one of the peapuffers did survive so it's them two in the tank. I'm going to continue to check parameters daily for the next week or so. Once I get some nitrate reading I think it would be okay to bring the goldfish back and get the peapuffers again. My wife is very attached to the goldfish now unfortunately which I feared would happen and doesn't want me to bring it back as a feeder. So hopefully I'll find someone interested in the taking the fish to keep and shell be happy with our "cute" puffers again.

That's good to hear. I've recently had some cycling troubles myself, it's frustrating struggling with one of the first things you learn fish keeping wise.

I still have my "nano" 50 gallons saltwater tank running without fish for few months already LOL I just dose ammonia to keep thing in check, the reason its still empty because the species I wanted not available to purchase now
