New tank setup

I arrived home last night after being away for Xmas.

I didn’t realize I was doing a leak test while I was away ??

I forgot to drain the entire tank before I left, at least it held while I was away. Though I did want to be home for that test.

I manage to get out and buy the heater for the tank and then my check engine light came on and I had to put my car in the garage to get fixed so I’m on hold for another couple of days. It’s difficult to sneak things into the house if I have to ask the bf to drive me?

iwas Also going to buy a new 20g long tank but with it being -30ish in my area I’m going to wait for it to warm up before I think about moving tanks in this cold weather

Lol, it's such a pain when someone you live with doesn't have Multiple Tank Syndrome! I know how it is, in no small part due to my cousin.

??it sucks! He’s pretty much against having a bathtub at this point.

my general rule these days is if I can move it myself, and it’s not increasing the number of tanks I have it’s fair game.

I have tested the waters and “offered” to get rid off all but one tank and he did say he wouldn’t ask me to do that yet.

Niki_up , I was thinking of you today when I saw that the weather is even colder in Edmonton than it currently is here at home...not much colder, but enough so that I was able to take a small perverse pleasure in that fact!

though I would assume anything you are experiencing is just about the same cold as you have higher humidity I would assume

Well quick unexpected update, my 60g cube tank is leaking and I’m draining it as we speak and moving everything out.

the angels went into the 135g and the tetras, Rams and plecos into the 33g long

Some of the L236’s I never see, at least 2 females in the bunch

and the banjo catfish is still alive, I hadn’t seen him in almost a year

Good thing your other tanks were safe for those fish. If not, you would need to kiss them goodbye too.

I was about to comment on the delicious taste of schadenfreude...until I read that update about the leak. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.

That cube seems to be neatly made, at least in the pics. Is it a custom? DIY? Planning on doing a re-seal job?

it was a second hand pickup tank, seams looked fine and tank had a sticker with 2012 date stamp. I’ll just sell the tank, stand, ect and finish with my other setups before I think about replacing this one. I’m just thankful I was home when it leaked, and that it wasn’t a full explosion
