About to order a guinea lap from toyin and was wondering if you guys do any special quarantine with wc poly? I've read stuff about parasites and other stuff, but I also know toyin's stock is top-quality so I just wanted to see what your experiences have been

How big is the lap? I do 24hrs qt, lolz
Toyin qt his polys before he sells them, same for wetspot, so i only qt them for 1 day, and sometimes if im bc i just throw them in the tank and most of my poly came from toying and nothing happened regarding parasites or anything in my tank.

It's about 8". Yeah I was thinking that it's probably safe to do that, but I always err on the side of caution. I'd rather have him separate for a week then have something go wrong and lose other fish

dude I learned the hardway to qt fish I don't care if they come from my best friend Its gonna get a Parasite treatment at the least

Maybe this is just paranoia from my roots as a big catfish keeper, but this lap will be my biggest poly, do I have to worry about him and say a 4" endli? Or is it just endlis that are canabalistic? Not a big deal either way, but I would like to have them together if possible.

I also keep tiger shovelnose and rtcxtsn, and those guys will eat anything smaller than 3/4 their size if they're hungry. haha so I'm in the habit of being paranoid about fish disappearing overnight.

I would be worry about it, my congi was 8" when it ate my 6" gold dust. Unless your endli have some good grith on it then you should be fine.

CB Teug can look good too. Recommend them in an upperjaw poly environment only, because most can be obese. I wouldn't mind getting another growout once my lfs has them @ $40 3"

oh lord. I hope when I get a CB Teugelsi, that it doesn't become obese. What is the benefit of having them in an upper jaw only environment?
