My plecs and panaques are so territorial they wouldn't even bother sucking slime coats. if something comes close, they thrust their tail and whatever was there isn't anymore. ^_^

And that includes the wolf fish that could literally eat a chunk out of the plec. :P

Yeah mine has a specific log that he clings to the underside of right next to the inlet filter pipe and if anything goes into his area he flicks and flails at them until they leave and then he just settles back into place, only see him when the blue light is on because he then knows its feeding time

My synodontis is similar but not too bad

Every "big" catfish I have ever kept was like that. Pleco, Channelcat, synos, even my flying fox (cyprinid) does the same. Chill with everyone they can't eat, but very possessive of the underside of some piece of petrified wood.
