New/Underutilized Species in the Exotic Pet trade

I want to see more captive bred water snakes, specifically the diamondback water snake. Argentine tegus, maybe, since it seems many don't give them the UVB they need. Id love to see yellow tegus available for the pet trade, but they can't be brought to the US. that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

FW rays are not legal in Florida. I used to see wolf fish in NE all the time but not here in Florida.

I understand watersnakes are easy to obtain from the wild, but never in stores and they are easy to care for and stay small. I know even some reptile guys that confuse water snakes for copperheads/cottonmouths or many people that dont want to look for water snakes for fear of running into venomous species.

How about Ompok catfish? Only seen them one time. Cute and entertaining, glad I bought him when I saw him.

I know they are not real rare, but how about axololtls? I hardly see them and have to go to a real specialty store to find them. Easy to care for, easy to feed, all you really need is cool clean water
axololtls are very common I see them everyday they are called waterdogs but I think axololtls are stuck in there water stage where waterdogs have to convert to air no matter what happens.

from what I have just read, waterdogs are typically just larval salamanders. Most frequently, tiger salamanders. They might look the same, but I like axolotls and I like the fact that they stay aquatic. Im not looking to get more amphibians right now.

The biggest problem with getting axolotls is CITES. Last time I went to an expo, the only axolotl vendor wasnt there because he was too slow filling out his CITES permits to breed and sell

I would like to see more places to get Wallabies here in Canada as I think they could be a nice addition to the exotic pet trade. As for new species as a whole what about the Rubber Boa, seems like an interesting native to keep though i am not sure about what the laws are pertaining to them.
