New WC Palmas Palmas and Delhezi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Saw a kuhli loach flipping around injured the other night. The polys are definitely hunting them. Sorry kuhlis! I feel badly but there's nothing I can do to save them. They lived a happy 5+ years....

The cirrrrrcle of liiiiiife.......
Thats kinda sad :(

At least i won't have small fish when i get a bichir, my Salvini and African butterfly showed me how effectively danios can be nailed and eaten in a cycle. I don't want that with my bichir as well

I feel really badly. The kuhlis were my first love in the realm of snakey fish. :(

But they hide so well there was no way for me to remove them without completely ripping the tank apart. I thought that they were so long/fat for kuhlis that they'd be OK but that has not been the case.

My fish are both wild caught and it sounds like in the wild they hunt loaches (someone mentioned that above) so I guess it was natural for them to do this. Still not sure the Del is doing it but for sure the Palmas is.

Mothereffer!!!!

The Del's tail is all ripped up. :(

I guess I return the Palmas. I have the crappiest luck.

Unfortunately, Wet Spot do not accept walk in returns. Sux I know. Who is the aggressor towards the Del? The palmas palmas? Doesn't sound right if it's the palmas.

It might be someone else most palmas are like senegals, they are nice and dont not aggressive, what else do you have in the tank other than poly

I have actually seen the Palmas nip at the Del and grab his tail. I thought it had stopped (they were sharing space more) but now I don't think so. :(

The only other aggressive tank member is the Ctenopoma and he hasn't even looked twice at the bichirs.

Sucks but it happens... i have a little sen that was a real s.o.b to other polys in sililar size. Same issue with and endli

They're hanging out in a similar spot. They are all around each other when eating. Is it normal for the aggression to be intermittent? Does it ever get better? His tail is totally torn. :(

I also realized the other day that my pH has been dropping from just below 7 to 5. I'm fixing this now. Could this affect aggression?
