Can you get a closer picture of the one in the back? The front one looks like L. lata, but the back looks like l. cf. cataphracta due to its eye.
 
some can cross breed, as long as they both breed the same (some are lip breeders, some spawn like other plecos etc)
 
The one in the back is the same one I posted at the beginning of this thread. The front one was purchased one week later from the same LFS only from a different shipment. I beleive that one is indeed different. The other two not pictured look more like the front one and were purchased at the same time. Will try to get a side by side comparison photo thing when I get a chance. We need a taxonomy geek in here!
 
its like bristlenose plecs. if you want to get a pair, its best to get them all in the same batch, because if you cant really tell, chances are higher they will be the same sp.
 
actually its a small chance. unless your buying from a person who is breeding 2 plecs and selling them. theyre usually either wild caught, or bred at farms (depending on the plec)
 
A lot of times when they are caught wild, they are caught as small babies, that have recently hatched, and they will all be from the same batch.
