Yes only males hold fry so every time they catch a aro if it's female with no fry they throw it back
So why waste the catch and put the female in a pond the catch amount must be 50% male 50% female so what's the problem

Also if they caught a male and found fry like this what do you think they do take the fry and throw him back and hope they get lucky and find another male holding fry like this or keep that male pout him in a pond and hope he continues to produce fry like this

If this aro is as rare as you say throwing the male back that produced the the fry would be crazy it would be like throwing away a lottery ticket before you cashed it

As for feeding the pond would be connected to the main river allowing other feeder fish to enter the pond and has far as I know insects are everywhere

You're not the sharp tool in the shed! Just because they catch an arowana without fry, it must be a female, and can't be a male, right? Any idea how big is the boat they used to collect fry? Do you expect there's room on the boat to hold all the adult they caught? And just because they caught a normal looking male holding 30-40 fry with one axanthic, that male is the winning lottery ticket? No, silly! The winning ticket is the axanthic fry. You can't produce another fry without the other half of the equation. What do you expect the fisherman to do? Catches the rest of the adult in that river and questions them which one carries the axanthic gene? Have you even thought about the resource spent to keep, feed, care and breed them? It must be a perfect world for other feeder fish from main river to enter the pond and serve themselves up to the arowana! And yes, insect is everywhere, and they love to swim in the pond with full of arowana. You have proven that you are NOT as smart as those fisherman, and the more you type, the more obtuse you shown! On second thought, you may as NOT as smart as those insect, or feeder fish in main river

LMAO- risk getting hit by an arapaima! You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning.

These people aren't rich man! You think they have the means to build a pond, catch a bunch of arros, feed and take care of them everyday?
Or would it be easier for them to get in a boat they already have for fishing and go net some already to go, release the parent and catch them in the next breeding season. No need to take care of fish fighting in a pond, don't need to feed them, don't have to worry about floods or predation or vandalism. No worries, except for killer flying arapaima- ROTFLMA!
You've been watching way to many River Monster shows LOL

Have you read the article before you posted, bro Fong? It said Asian arowana has been protected by CITES since 2006. Does that sound right to you, bro Fong? Or does the article sounds like a bunch of poorly collected information, without fact checking, verification? Where did you find it? Gossip column?

No reason for them to make up story. Really? Are you that naive, bro Fong? Do you also live under a rock like T1karkmann?

The claims
1) no captive breeding in Latin america
Counter claim : a link to "reef to rainforest media, a publisher of award winning magazines and books, stating captive breeding of silver in Colombia.
2) "reef to raise forest media" data on cites listing 2006 ban Asian Arowana Is incorrect.
Counter claim: a link to Wikipedia to show the same claim as" reef to rainforest media".

Proven wrong And again. If I were you, I would be so embrasssed by now.

You make not sense
1. It is stated in this thread that a few aro like this was found so they must have come from the same males mouth or did they find multi males hoeing fry like this I don't think so if it's so rare
2. You say the boat is very small which must mean it's risky to go fishing meaning making ponds make more sense
3. If they go out with the sole objective of catching adults they will take the needed tools for the job

Look we are going round and round in loops

It has been shown to you captive breeding is happening why do you refuse to admit this

I'm done with this for some reason you think this aro is the best thing since sliced bread

You can think that if you like

All I see is a yellow aro with drop eye

Hey Einstein, just because you catch a male with one Xanthic or more doesn't mean the gene came from the male- what about the female? Are you going to catch every female out there and question them
which one bred with this male? And even if you got them both there is no guarantee of getting Xanthic fry again.

And if they were captive bred and easily produced like you and BroFong say then there would be a lot more people selling them right? Shoot the market would be flooded! In fact I'm going to go to Petsmart and pick one up right now. SMH, you and BroFong need to make a third sequel to DUMB AND DUMBER #TREE

I am here to show that captive breeding is happening in Latin America. Points proven.
I am not concern if captive bred or not. if it's a nice fish.. Is a nice fish Right?

Yes it is a nice fish and it doesn't matter if it's captive bred or not. But if you remember you said that you wouldn't buy one of these because they are bred all the time in farms around you and aren't worth anything? Do you remember saying that or do I have to go find the quote? Can you at least be man enough and say you were wrong? They aren't breeding these Xanthic silvers in captivity yet or the farm would be posting it all over the Internet for sales. At least admit that.
