Different fish and different temperments. Every fish will have their own personality. Some might be aggressive and others not. (I'm speaking of the same species) I had my 125 set up with an Oscar, 2 Severums, a Jack, and a male convict. Never had a problem with any of them being aggressive. They all got along great. Sometimes feeding smaller amounts twice a day helps cut down on aggression.

I was told on this forum a Jack and a Convict would get along and was recommended for me to put 1 of each in my 75

So you think a Texas, oscar, jack, sev, fire mouth, and con would work in a 125? Lol that's gonna be problems

Minus the texas, since I've never kept them, I have kept similar groups without problems

i know for sure an oscar, convict, firemouth... other then that, one or two more cichlids? maybe green terror or jack dempsey and salvini?

I would choose stock that isn't real high on putting out waste, since you prefer sponge filters.

Put a couple big hobs on. There to supliment your sponge filters ...you will be plenty good....
