Hello; It is very interesting that the NFL allowed the flag protests to continue even when they had specific written rules against the protests. Now they refuse to air an ad from a veterans group that urges folks to "stand" during the flag ceremony.
I know how this strikes me but will be curious as to how such a move will be justified by the NFL.

It wont be,they will simply pretend it did not happen just as they have recently started doing with the kneelers..

Hello; Not that I wish to get into a long debate on the value of not watching NFL games again, but not watching still seems the way to go. I guess the NFL and the sports media will suppress this story so as to keep the "cash cow" going.

I think we need to try other strategies. It seems it is too hard for many to stop watching, or even acknowledge the protest. I agree with "cash cow." As long as NFL is making millions, players making millions, this is a hard fight. Could it be possible for these viewers to watch the game, but still support the counter protest? Like not watching live games, and watching later. I would think the low ratings would hit the NFL where it needs to be hit.

Hello; I like the idea but do not know of a way to do anything about it.
I have yet to really understand how stopping the protests during our flag ceremony was going to hurt the NFL. I have tried to think of some reasons but none that seem to me to be as important as honoring our flag.
I recall back in the 1950's I was in the boy scouts troop 32 out of Middlesboro KY. There were a number of sanctioned hike we could go on. Some were to civil was battlefields. Some were along historical trails. I got a patch for hiking over 100 miles of such trails. I recall one where we wound up hiking thru the horse farms outside of Lexington KY. I guess it was pre arranged as we were allowed onto one of the farms and into the stables. We were shown some of the race horses. They were beautiful animal athletes. The horses were pampered and every need taken care of.
A thing that sticks in my mind to this day is that the horses lived better than I did at the time. The stables were much nicer than any home I have ever lived in. They were worth millions back when that was big money.
I guess the players are in some ways similar in that they are catered to. Catered to perhaps beyond what is reasonable at least in this case. I guess what I am driving at is they bring in so much revenue that the NFL owners decided to indulge them in their protests which disrespect the flag.
It also seems that a lot of folks do like football more than they are bothered by the flag protests. As someone else stated, I would have been just as happy to watch the games with replacement players had the kneelers been benched.
This will be the first superbowl I have not watched in a very long time. There were a few years when I did not have access to a TV, but not many.

Like not watching live games, and watching later

I just read the article and i gotta admit. This is b.s this is almost as bad as not standing. Goodell is total garbage man

Rubbish, no where in the NFL players agreement does it mandate they stand.
read it yourself if you disagree:

Disclaimer: one of my clients is a current NFL player, I've read that CBA at least a hundred times.
