AS a sidenote... this REDSKINS thing is being portrayed(BY SOME) as a political "takeover"..it's not , it's a continuation of a movement that started in the 80's (Reagan era)..that saw DOZENS of schools change their nicknames...INCLUDING THE STANFORD INDIANS TO CARDINAL..AND ST. JOHNS REDMEN TO RED STORM..not to mention eastern Washington changed their name from SAVAGES to EAGLES in '73 (Nixon- Ford era)
 
The issue should not involve a government agency; this sets a dangerous example.

NFL should take care of it, or not; and consumers should vote with their pocketbooks.

Stripping someone unpopular of governmental protection reeks of 14th amendment violation.

the govt. didn't "strip" SNYDER OF ANYTHING... they are now allowing ANYONE to use the logo....is that the same govt. that enabled SNYDER to become A BILLIONAIRE...? btw did you know that the nfl has been doing business as a non-profit?...that means NO TAXES on those big tv contracts (multi billion$$$).. yep that mean ol' govt really has it out for them poor billionaire owners
 
I am wonder what is going to happen if they change the name from Redskin to Blackskin.

what part of the last 10 posts ISN'T about the nickname controversy ..even the non profit status of the nfl limits the use of objectionable material to keep said (non profit)status..

good luck to em.. no hair off my chin...but if that's the war you want to pick,,,fight on skippy...was that passive aggressive enuff for ya? ps ..youre example has nothing to do with the current societal issues going on with a team nickname that 50 yrs ago may well have been the WASHINGTON N-WORD'S... it is a racial slur and as such unacceptable in modern day society
 
I think we would have to go back farther than fifty years for that name to be allowed.
