They took away a protection offered to others because of an expression of speech. It is like IRS saying we don't like your organization's name so you lose your tax exemptions.

that's your'e opinion , not fact ...THE GOVT decided that somebody using a racial slur (and receiving non profit status )doesn't deserve "exclusive right" to BILLION DOLLAR PROFITS OFF OF THAT LOGO..they can still make lots of money off the logo...and so can all the "real"redskins ...get it now? aren't you one of those "nobody is entitled to free money " guys????? it sure seems like it from your past posts that I seem to recall about "welfare"... maybe it's time "MR. SNYDER" finds out how the other half lives
Again, it is not the role of government to determine what is offensive and what is not, and certainly can not take punitive actions because of it. It's kinda like if the government want healthy food, they suddenly disallow trademarks for McDonald. It should not be allowed to do that.

that's your'e opinion on the "role"..not reality... in reality the fed DOES decide (by choosing) the status of non profits AND the rules they must live by to retain such status( and truth be told they didn't change that one little bit)...but I"LL BE SURE to let the pres. know he need to consult you on constitutional law(by the way, ya think maybe he already consulted some people that know law better than you)?....
It has been tried before and overturned on appeal, as it will this time as well.

Don't really have a horse in this race so I could really care either way. But I didn't think it was right for the govt to intrude the way they did, but I'm getting used to this current government intruding more and more on our everyday life. All the idiot libs that keep voting tards in like Obami and I'm sure Hillary next are the cause. Not going to make this more about politics than I already have just had to express my disgust of how big this government is growing and it isn't going to stop anytime soon. That being said I think they should leave the name I'm glad Snyder is sticking to his guns. Why has it become such a big deal now after how many years?????

Btw, you have not yet given me any thread of evidence an agency of US government taken away or threaten to take away privileges of those schools to encourage them to change the mascots.
