Ive been thinking the same thing. Im just hoping there is some crazy all season guy out there with the secret.

really you need finesse at daytime now the waters cold and the bass will eat if you put it in front of them but they wont chase as steadily anymore. So all i can say is smaller jigs in brush piles. Also if you find a catfish mark that spot because they usually congregate together in the winter

Thanks guys I was planning on slow rolling some jigs next week. Cichlid Fiend I live up by Downingtown now, about an hour from Trenton. My wifes family lives in Yardley though so iv'e been down there. Quick trip up the turnpike from you. All of my friends live in Upper Darby still and I was thinking about trying some ponds down in my old neighborhood to see if a smaller pond might give me some better luck. Not to many people fishing down in Delco these days so who knows maybe I can pull a big one. I'm not sure what CP is though so please let me know and i'll see if we got it. I want to emphasize too that I don't care what we catch as long as we get something. It doesn't matter if its a four ounce sunny because it's personal now, I'm challenging myself. Any fish will be a big victory. Fiend if you still pull anything this time of year let me know, your conditions have to be the same. Thanks again guys.

CP stands for chain pickeral. I asked that cause with them in the equation it can be a very good day. They still chase food down in the winter time, unlike the lazy winter bass.

You may have helped me figure this out. Straight from the lakes webpage it says,

"Back at the lake, the water has good to excellent fishing for warm-water species. Anglers have landed 40-inch long tiger muskies (hybrid cross between northern pike and native muskellunge). Other species include largemouth bass, channel catfish, black crappie, walleye and a variety of panfish. The lake is designated a big bass lake and specific regulations apply."

Good for warm water fishing. Bad for me. I got to go where the pikes are. What do those guys like to chase?

yup the will chase they pull up big ones through the ice

personally i believe the worm is the best thing you could do. During the summer my cousin and I hit a lake in Alleghany state park with two dozen worms and pulled in over 20 bass. however that is during the summer. I would go to the shallowest section of the lake with cover throw in 3 lines with worms at different depths.

Yeah man I have a lot of luck with worms during the warm seasons but they have been a bust so far this winter. They were skinny ass worms though, maybe the fish were offended. Thanks anyway buddy, I appreciate it. Hey pike guys, what do the pikes like to eat. I'm after those guys now.

I do well in a canoe for pike in a lake by me, but it is known for pike. I drift along just off the weedbeds staying on the edge of shallow and deep water. Pike will not be far from the weeds. Rapalas work alright, I do pretty well on red devil spoons. Use long and skinny lures, pike like a skinny bait. Bass like it fat.

Awesome. Thank you. Lake Erie huh. I'm thinking of taking a trip up there sometime next summer. I'm sure the fishing is great, I'm looking forward to it. Maybe I'll run into you on the water. If you see anyone wearing a Flyers jersey come on by and we can pound a few. If it's not me, chances are if it's a Flyers fan they will still offer you beer. Thanks again for the tips, now I just have to steal a canoe from someone, unless you think it's possible to work the shoreline.

hahah will do man! If you remember hit me up and I'll let ya in on some good spots for the time of year, I grew up on the lake. I don't fish lake erie for pike as it is too deep by me. I'd have to go over to presque isle bay in erie and fish for them somewhere where weeds are near by. I fish chautauqua lake in new york for musky and pike.
Lake Erie for pretty much everything else in the summer.
