nightmare!!!! - fish eating pellets

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well, i put it in, came back after an hour and it was gone, just dont know if it was the piranhas that ate it!!!! lol

i got a 3-4" bottom feeder (caNT remember name) that seemed pretty interested too!!!

update:

i've reduced feeding to twice a day. tried it with a cockles froze cube and they ate most of what i gave them, but wern't that bothered...

tried it again (obviosly after 12 hours) with some raw king prawn and absolutely everything went pretty crazy (although not lyk a lot of the "piranha frenzy" videos on youtube) for it for lyk nearly 15 mins!!!! success!!!

i'm gonna stick with the prawn for now, i'm thinking leaving it in the tank for 30-60 minutes each time would be suitable?

Told you they would love the shrimp! They should grow a lot more noticably too. That's what happened when I put mine on shrimp.

Congrats on getting them to eat!

thanks!!! it comes as a great releif!!!! their bellies are looking so fat now! im actually proud of them, lol.

just in time as they ate more than a cm off the top of my bottom feeders fin!!!!! do fins grow back at all?

When they are well fed, the fins should grow bak pretty quickly. Occasionally mine will nip or get in a small scuffle.. not often anymore. They always grow back within a week though.

i was told that it has a really sharp rigid spike at the top edge of its fin, the little buggers even ate part of that!!! :D

a better idea would be to buy mini pellets hikari is overpriced and a rip off though.

i take it you havnt read the whole thread? lol

Now since you know they will eat prawns, you can stuff the prawns with pellets if you want to color enhance or anything. I will be trying that soon.

i think the pellets would be too big to try this, i think i will leave the pellets untill they are 3" +

how long do you leave your shrimp in for?
