Nitrate and phosphate undetectable. Hair algea still growing

i switched to twolittle fishies c balance to buffer alk and calcium. i like the way it works. i add 7ml of the alk buffer every 2 days and 7ml of calcium once a week.

alk stays about 9dkh and calcium stays at 450ppm with that dosing. the ph stays 8.3 during the day and 8.1 at night.

the only problem im having is keeping the cheato alive in the fuge. not sure why. but i ordered a separate sump/refuge i will be installing next week. that should fix it.

the lack of cheato in the fuge is causing nitrates to be a little higher then id like, about 10ppm now.

If you have your fuge light run while your tank light is off, and vice versa, it will help control the night time pH swing.

And youre not the only one having trouble keeping cheato alive for no apparent reason, I hear that quite a bit.

i was running the fuge lights on a reverse light cycle, cheato started dieing off so i went to a 24/7 fuge cycle. didnt help.
