No Traffic In The Ray Section? Whats The Deal?

2x! People dont seem to care to get any info by looking for it. To many lazy people!
It seams to be the same all over the forum people are also saying the same in the tiger/datnoid forum

Maybe we should collectively come up with a list of interesting topics to discuss that are original or at the very least fresh. Then once or twice a week someone starts a new thread with the next topic on the list. Everyone would have a chance to read and discuss if they choose.

perhaps its because people forget that the point of a forum is so people can ask questions but when new people or inexperienced people ask questions they tend to get flamed or shot down so dont bother asking anymore or just dont bother with forums at all.
if you owned a fish shop and complained that everyone came in asking for the same things all the time when they could find them elsewhere just as easily im sure you would soon see the error of your ways.
ie
customer : ... oooh thats a really nice fish , can i keep it in my 2ft tank ?
shopkeeper : omg another bloody idiot, why dont you go to the library and read a book . you shouldnt even be keeping fish !
or the shopkeeper could politley point the customer in the right direction get him to put a deposit on a bigger tank and get repeat business.
all the new forum customers are scared off or afraid of asking questions its no wonder its the same people posting or the not posting as the case may be as they have already asked their questions.
maybe admin should put a big sign at the top of the forum that says " be polite - YOU choose the questions you answer "

It's spring... everyone is outside doing yard work ect... no extra time to cruise the forums ect.. happens around here as a whole during the warmer monthes... that and the fish are biteing.. less aquarium fiddling.. more hook and lining.
But me personally... busy setting up the 1k pool, moving fish from one basement to another, can't forget the munchkin, or minion #2 in my belly.... busy busy... lucky to get all the water changes done for the week ect.... and my rays are doing just fine... so no need to ask questions.. and when i do visit here most the questions pertain to motoros ect... not retics.

There are many ray keepers that got into rays 2-3+ years ago and now have maturing rays breeding. There are only a couple of ways to sell our pups. Either you have to have rare or top quality rays that other ray keepers will want to add to their collection or encourage other hobbyists to get into rays. If they are going to keep getting flamed whenever they ask questions or experience ray keepers are going to keep bickering at each other, it's going to turn people off of the ray community. Think of it this way. When your child asks you a question because they are interested in something, you don't flame them and tell them to go look it up, you explain to them so they understand and have more knowledge. The more they know, the more Likely they are stay interested.

This is just so well put. You are spot on. I see it a lot, people ask and someone random person decides to chime in with "google it" rather than be helpful. I know a lot of people(myself included) that are new and not totally sure how to use the resources on this site would probably just not stay around long, or just be a silent observer. The way people are these days especially the ones i like to give the label "Elitest" (the ones that know it all) why would new people want to waste time. If i cant find it browsing i dont bother asking sometimes its more frustrating to ask. Really there is sooo much info on this site nobody should ever need to post ever again.
