whatever n. korea is thinking... the world is watching and preparing. war may come along with it since it is not only a simple missle they are trying to test. don't forget they are doing nuclear too. in the long run.. like sadam hussein.. scud missles.. they wanted to do that and it ended up going into desert storm (iraq and kuwait). n. korea is already in hot water. and with china and russia not backing the UN council... smells fishy to me. n. korea and china has the same government structure and style. hopefully china will not follow like n. korea. china was a sleeping giant but now they are racing for power too. going back... n. korea must accept things in reality. they think like in the 1940s when the WWII broke out. they want to take over the world, it's like an ant trying to bite a cow.. hoping for it to die.
Historically, this is THE short-term solution to complex issues. While most of us on this board (I would hope) find this "answer" ethically wrong, in what case would it be right? For the US government, it often appears that Bush & co. find threats to our national stability to be just cause for such action. North Korea's hostile and provocative attitude hasn't destabilized us, or even SouthEast Asia, yet. If they persist, however, that day may come, and the markets will demand military action (even if limited in scope and duration). Curiously, I would think Australians would find more alarming about North Korean posturing than we Americans - your economic positioning is far more dependant upon Asian markets than us.
