You need to look for a Muskie they are a cousin of the northern pike and i have heard they can stand higher temperatures. I have also seen them in tanks at some of our LFS in warm tanks.

Esox americanus sp, grass pikes are found in north america only and max out 20"ish there is also a subspecies of Esox americanus sp called redfins after their red fins...... there are also chain pikes: Esox niger sp. that max at around 24"... that about all i could find... i was more interested in what if any tankmates they work with and if anyone had seen any in the uk or knew how i could source one???

I had him in a 90 with 3 9" piranha. He would get his tail bit every once in a while but that would just tell me it was time to feed the big boys. Whenever the rbp's would chase him and try to bite him, he would just bite back. Very cool fish.
Anyways back to your topic. I'm pretty sure you can acclimatize them, just do it over a period of time. Slowly raise the tank temp, wait a few weeks and raise it again.

You can do all kinds of silly things with fish but the rule of thumb with N/A natives (and presumably European natives as well) is "no heater" .
