Amen, Brother (or Sister if that b the case)! I can 100% vouch from PERSONAL experience these highly undesirable "INVASIVE TO MY damn farm pond" walk overland EVERY FREAKIN' year and come into my pond. A neighborhood kid recieved a broken ARM from being hit by one of the M.F's (and I don't mean monster fish), and that occured in the drainage of the pond and NOT swimming in deep water.

I would bet the farm on ANY of these 30 - 50 pound beasts (EATING ANY DAMN SNAKEHEAD) it came in contact with. Oh PLEASE someone take that bet. I video documentary of the "harmless native snapping turtle" rapeing ANY snakehead might astound people.

On second though, lets not! The weak minds that are required to believe any of the B.S. american TALL TALES of the infamous "WALKING SNAKEHEAD MONSTER" would probably be pushed into commiting suicide upon learning the truth. Sorry, scap that pee poor idea!

can i fish your pond lol. I took ym boat above conowingo dam sat was a nice day to be on the water.

That neighborhood kid should have been in the newspaper. "Kid gets broken arm from flying fish." What happened to him is way more exciting than "Teenager gets bit by snakehead and needed a band aid."

Stupid laws that make no sense. You can own a destructive koi at home. People release them into all sorts of waterways all over the US. They breed like rabbits. They eat all sorts of fish spawn. They muddy the water when they eat. It doesn't take long for them to take over a body of water. They survive all sorts of conditions. They can live in near freezing water. They can live in water that gets really warm during the summer. They can tolerate pollution, water low in oxygen, adapting to almost anything. Yet, you can go down to your local LFS or even Walmart and pick one up. Then, you have people who get in trouble for even mentioning a snakehead. A snakehead, that bit someone's fingers, is highly illegal. Compared to the damage that koi and carp do, they are nothing. The giant snakehead will not survive in any body of water in US, not even Florida. That's the snakehead that is portrayed in a lot of these stupid government articles with pictures of the biggest ones ever caught. All but 3 or 4 species are small. And to make matters worse, our tax money goes to pay these bozos that enforce these stupid laws. Why can't we have smarter people running this country? Seriously, when I return home to the states one day, and I happen to see or catch a snakehead, I'm not even going to waste my time reporting it. The money used to pay these clowns should go to something more useful, like schools that have laid off teachers because of tight budgeting. Or how about people that have exhausted their unemployment.

And I hope I don't get flamed for this because I'm exercising my right to freedom of speech. It really irritates me everytime I hear about something stupid like this. We have enough retards running our country to the ground.

You have a point with the koi, but one at a time. Snakeheads, are invasive and run the threat of ruining ecosystems. You have no idea what snakeheads can do. You don't know if snakeheads can survive in Florida. I'd rather not find out. Common pleco's pretty much ruined some bodies of water around my area, and they don't even attack the fish, just the eggs. The fact that if you were to catch a snakehead and not report it, it would be a waste of money all together wouldn't it? I mean, Wildlife enforcement officers or w/e are paid to keep invasives out. If you do find a snakehead and don't report it, you run the risk of ruining an ecosystem because you don't agree with some law. As dumb as these laws are, they are made for a reason. I don't understand people like you. Just because one creature is more threatening then the other, you would ignore the less threatening one.

WHAT? Did you misread?

A Snapping turtle relates to a flying fish how? Why on EARTH would ANY of the BAZILLION run ins between Humans and Snapping turtles EVER make a newspaper. Are you saying Stapping turtles DO NOT attack humans since there is a lack of front page coverage in newspapers. Why not go to nationally telivised news casts!

By FAR the animal in the USA that kills THE MOST HUMANS every year (The Bee) has never made the headlines in any newspaper I have ever read either. Likewise, being unworthy of the newspaper, I guess it is untrue that like 1% of the population is allergic to the sting of a bee and are affected differently that others. No such thing as the needle they carry around to be able to "SURVIVE" a bee sting!

It is a fact and you won't read it in you newspaper.

I am totally missing why you would even think it news worthy. I was with the kid (was a kid myslef)! I big time wanted the snappers out of my swimming hole, some of the neighbors down the street in the duplexes LOVED turtle soup, and were willing to pay us for them. We would take our .22's and shoot the things and get some spending cash while simultaneously maintaining our skinny-dipping hole for the neighborhood girlies!

What is newsworthy about a bunch of teenagers catching a buzz and not paying attention while hunting snapper and having one stoner get a broken arm from an un-noticed basking snapper?

I think the main point is NONE OF THESE animal attacks are "newsworthy". The Snalehead somehow manages to hit the newspaper if it farts!

For the record fish sauce. We have a established population of snakeheads in maryland and va waterways. Its not just random catches. They are here and there staying. As for de seems like enuf of them have been transported to populate some areas of de. also florida has bullseye snakeheads .

Yes, I know about the northern snakeheads in Maryland and the cobra snakeheads in Florida. What I was saying was the snakeheads pictured in most articles, the red snakehead, cannot survive in US waters. These are the biggest and meanest ones.
