I have come up with the perfect plan, fill a cooler with some beer, turn off the cell phone, and sit next to the pond in a lawn chair when filling. Isn't that what a pond is meant for?

that might be the best plan ive heard here. sorry about your losses, but keep your head up and lets see some pics of the new babys :D

Glad to see that you are stepping back in so quickly! Post pics of the new babies!

I'm sorry for your loss. I did the same thing. When I woke up in the morning I noticed that my water was a crystal clear blue color. Then came the "Oh ****" expression on my face. I had left the hose running. I immediately put de-clorine powder in the water fall and everything was back to normal. Thank god the Dovii's I have are tuff.

I came home from a weekend away and my old little pond 500g was down to 4 inches the only reason it didnt drain completely was a pump box in the bottom...... I never figured what happened ..... SORRY TO HEAR YOU LOSS...... it happens........

im sorry too, happened to me also. but wuts worse is waking up one day and find body parts all over the place. YES body parts, stomach with eggs, no head, some heads, etc. DAMN U RACCOONS, OPOSSUMS, OR CATS!

I'm really sorry about your lost fish. They were really beautiful...
Don't let that event discourage you. It just happens...

ok folks...we've all got a t-shirt...

1) never refill without dechlor on hand...big water requires ST (sodium thiosulphate) just chuckin a handful...it will neutralize chlorine Not chloramines

2)go to home depot/lowes and buy an under the counter water filter chamber and use charcoal filters for approx 15,000 gallons...just connect it to the hose and it won't matter if you forget.

3) 30 minute timers are small enough to carry in your pocket as a reminder.

this is one of the most costly human errors and it's so easy to eliminate
