Nubee - 1000 gal how to put on stand?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
WOW $140!
AND..........no pictures yet????? Having trouble believing it lol

Huge pick up. Let us know when your ready to set up the filtration. I can't wait to advise on stocking but your the boss so guppy's are fine I guess :D

Yep, there were several 100 people at the auction, about 5 people wanting it, but no one could figure out how to get it home/where to put it. I had no idea what it was worth, but I was telling my wife I wouldn't spend more than $250, from what yall are saying, its worth more. Some times your the dog, sometimes your the hydrant, I guess i finally got lucky. It also had what I think is a chiller. Looks like what you would find in the back of a fridge except the cooling part goes into some 4 inch pvc with an in and out port on it. It is a bit rusty, as they were using it as a marine tank, but I fired it up, and it still works. I was thinking of using it to keep my aquaponics in the greenhouse cooler.

Welcome to MFK!!!! I Got to say that has go to be the best STEAL I have ever heard of in my entirelife:cool-1: Big Ups to you man. What are your stocking options?

Yeah that's the best deal ever! I got my 450 with a stand for $1000.

Check out some of the acrylic buffing and scratch removal threads. You may want to buff out that front panel. or........sell it to me :D

That will fit in my front door ;)

the problem i would have is the cost of set up stock and running the tank .. something like that is going to cost $200-$300 a month just for electricity here .. and set up and stocking would cost thousands .. and you would have the largest grow out tank ever ... if you wanted larger fish it could cost tens of thousands to stock ..

i would take the good luck and sell it for a MAJOR profit and use that money to buy a set up i could afford in the long run .. or several smaller tanks that i could stock over time ..

(i would see it and start a ray breeding project if it was mine)

What the hell??????

Good thing the OP doesn't have this...............problem :)

"Oh darn it's going to cost a lot to run all those pumps"..............:screwy:

Larger tanks do cost more, but per gallon, they cost significantly less than a smaller tank. I would look into a 230V pump and a very large sump. Go fresh water of course and look into a trickle 24/7 water change system. Simple shop lights for lighting.
Stocking: Peacock bass grow real fast! Then throw in some dithers like Bala's and Silver Dollars. On the bottom I would go with a Niger maybe a few common Plecko's. Hard to over stock this baby but fun to try ;)
