On topic however, I am one of the organizers for my local occupy protest.
Why, given the nature of your comments, does this appear to be outright BS, unless you belong to the Westboro Baptist church of course.
On topic however, I am one of the organizers for my local occupy protest.
Scatman:
Here's the recent story of a guy who thought as you do about fire services...until his house burnt down for an unpaid $75 fee as the fire dept stood by and watched. I guess you are hoping this doesn't happen to you.

re the JFK quote, so evidently from your posts in this thread you are only interested in what your country can do for you and have no intention of giving back in any way. That is not most peoples' idea of patriotism, but as per my other quote, you'll find some way to wrap it in the flag.
right here...
that's not why we have government. government is created to protect peoples rights, plain and simple.
not to make jobs, feed the poor, educate the stupid or plant flowers, so on and so on... these are not rights, these are things you have to earn.
it boggles my mind that you think everyone should pay for what YOU think is important but when someone else thinks that their college tuition is that important, you disagree
What if the fire department said he needed to pay 1000 dollars? Should he not have the right to refuse? What if he installed his own fire deterrants such as a sprinkler system? Or he felt there was a better organization nearby that would put out his fire cheaper and faster?
You just contradict yourself each time you post.
how would you pay a road toll if not driving a car on it?
dude, if you can't keep up with the conversation, just quit. tolls and registration fees are not taxes, they're FEES! therefore someone without a car wouldn't pay these fees. HOWEVER that same person without a car would be paying for roads that they aren't using if the roads were being paid for by taxes. learn the difference between FEES and TAXES."tons of private watchdog groups'?
yet the TP and GOP would do away with consumer protection agencies as part of their stated policies.

You seem to like quotes, so here's a relevant one for you from Mark Twain:
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
I'll put it in simpler terms so that you can understand: If you keep your mouth shut, you won't put your foot in it.
BTW, National sentiment , according to polls, is running about 70%-30% in favor of the OWS protests.
You are on the wrong side of history on this one
ok, before I address this I want to back up a little
I have to disagree here. Why is it everytime we have presidential run offs... part of a campaign is about the economy? and Military stance?
The governments job is to keep the country together and running smooth. Which includes a good to thriving economy.

PRIVATE = not government (tax) funded. holy hell man, READ FIRST.
that's excellent advice, you should take it.
what does that say about the national sentiment, they can't define ows yet they're behind it?!?! also, i never said i was for or against it, so sweet assumption.
Scatman said:i'm going to stop you right there.
if you think that the government's job is more than what i previously stated, then you also believe that the government has more right to your money and property than you do. you believe that it is ok to steal money from the citizens to pay for thing that you think they need.
you can't believe that government should protect the rights of it's people while at the same time, violating those rights! it's a contradiction!
so long story short; you either respect the rights absolutely, or you don't respect them at all. you're cool with stealing money as long as it's spent on what you want it spent on.
