rays are extrememly sensitive to ph changes since he is not cupping anymore i would slowly raise the ph back up. is it doing any slime coat shedding? i would think a ph that low would be giving you additional problems so keep us updated

he was not shedding his slime coat. i brought the pH up very slowly to 7 (over a week). he was eating ghost shrimp like there was no tomorrow but this morning i went to check on him this morning and found he didnt make it 
he had lost a lot of weight but his appetite was back so i was hoping that would make things better.
i've never lost a ray before this is very sad. i hope i never have to deal with this again.

sorry to hear this happend and i hope also you dont have to deal with it. the two times i have heard of this it ended in the same way though. long drawn out lots of stress to the owner bad way to go. hope things go better next time.
