Its supposed to be somthing to do with nerve endings damaged or somthing.
I had a least killifish that recently out of the bag from shipping and it has that mark..probably the box was thrash around and the mark disappeared a month later. I believe that your oddball jewel will recovered from injury and become normal. just what exactly how you caught this jewel cichlid? Cast net?
