I'd say 7, but they surprised me in Detroit, which is a hard place to shut down a crowd that sells out every single night. Allen's turned on, which like I said about the Detroit series, had to happen.
You talk sh*t on me for saying 2 or 3 KU players will go in the first round, but then you go off and start comparing the reg. season to the finals???
IMO, if Detroit had showed as much heart as Altanta, they would have won in 7. Everyone steps it up in the finals.
Lakers in 5 because:
1. Lakers are a younger, deeper team
2. Lakers have FAR more experience. Phil has what 9 rings? Athletic trainers, assistant coaches, the GM, the owner all have rings. Kobe and Fish have been here before playing together. While Kobe and Fish will be able to calm their teams down in the first half of game one, the Celtics have NO ONE to provide confidence in the team. I expect Kobe to come out shooting in game one, and have atleast 15 points in the first quarter to let his players see the ball go into the basket and take the lock off the rim. 2nd quarter he will fascilitate the offense.
3. Phil is a better coach than Doc Rivers. Phil is better at making mid-series adjustments. Phil has more confidence in his team to succeed. For example, in game 5 of Lakers/Spurs series, what did he do when his team was down 17 in the 2nd quarter, he left ALL bench players in the game... CONFIDENCE
4. Lakers have faced 2 championship contenders in the playoffs this year, Utah and SA and never lost a game at home. At home, LA has been golden.
5. LA never gives up! When they were down 20 half way thru the 3rd quarter against SA in game 1, did they lay down and quit, NO! Kobe facilitated the offense and put the ball in the basket.
6. Kobe is the best player and most clutch player in the game. Does 32 points per game in the playoffs, scoring 1.8 points per shot, and 17 points in the fourth quarter of Game 5 vs SA lie???
Lakers in 5, NUFF SAID
We should just close this thread now, because I just won this debate...
