Kobe already has the crown tattooed on his shoulder how can you argue with that?

Lakers in 5 because:

1. Lakers are a younger, deeper team
2. Lakers have FAR more experience. Phil has what 9 rings? Athletic trainers, assistant coaches, the GM, the owner all have rings. Kobe and Fish have been here before playing together. While Kobe and Fish will be able to calm their teams down in the first half of game one, the Celtics have NO ONE to provide confidence in the team. I expect Kobe to come out shooting in game one, and have atleast 15 points in the first quarter to let his players see the ball go into the basket and take the lock off the rim. 2nd quarter he will fascilitate the offense.
3. Phil is a better coach than Doc Rivers. Phil is better at making mid-series adjustments. Phil has more confidence in his team to succeed. For example, in game 5 of Lakers/Spurs series, what did he do when his team was down 17 in the 2nd quarter, he left ALL bench players in the game... CONFIDENCE
4. Lakers have faced 2 championship contenders in the playoffs this year, Utah and SA and never lost a game at home. At home, LA has been golden.
5. LA never gives up! When they were down 20 half way thru the 3rd quarter against SA in game 1, did they lay down and quit, NO! Kobe facilitated the offense and put the ball in the basket.
6. Kobe is the best player and most clutch player in the game. Does 32 points per game in the playoffs, scoring 1.8 points per shot, and 17 points in the fourth quarter of Game 5 vs SA lie???

Lakers in 5, NUFF SAID

We should just close this thread now, because I just won this debate...

Again, while I agree that LA will win, and most of your points about Kobe, I'm going to take a little time to show why your "winning" argument really isn't so great. But only because you asked me to...

"While Kobe and Fish will be able to calm their teams down in the first half of game one, the Celtics have NO ONE to provide confidence in the team. I expect Kobe to come out shooting in game one, and have atleast 15 points in the first quarter to let his players see the ball go into the basket and take the lock off the rim. 2nd quarter he will fascilitate the offense."

While this sounds good, and could happen, it is all opinion. There are no facts here, just wishful thinking.

"Lakers have faced 2 championship contenders in the playoffs this year, Utah and SA and never lost a game at home. At home, LA has been golden."

I guess this is true, but I don't know if Utah is really a contender. But, the Celtics faced the Cav's who were in the Finals last year, and the Pistons who have won a title, and been in the East finals for 6 years running, so really that argument is a push, if not in favor of the Celtics.

"LA never gives up! When they were down 20 half way thru the 3rd quarter against SA in game 1, did they lay down and quit, NO! Kobe facilitated the offense and put the ball in the basket."

Take a look back and see how many points the Celtics were down on the road against the Piston's in a close out game, which is something they have never done. I think it was like 15 points? Anyway, they showed great effort winning on the road against Detroit, while down by a bunch.

"Kobe is the best player and most clutch player in the game. Does 32 points per game in the playoffs, scoring 1.8 points per shot, and 17 points in the fourth quarter of Game 5 vs SA lie???"

Again, while I would probably agree, calling him "the most clutch" is opinion. And even the "best player" he is the MVP this year (and I think the best player in the game), but the Celtics don't exactly have scrubs on their team. Look at the all-star appearances between Garnett, Pierce, and Allen, they're not bad.

"Lakers in 5, NUFF SAID"

Again, opinion.

Should have added IMO. The facts are experience. I am making a guess based soley on facts.

The cavs were not a contender. You say the cav's were in the finals LAST year, but that is completly different. Because of many cav's trades and pick ups, the roster has done a complete 180. "The pistons would have won the title" You call me out for an opinion then you say that.

:iagree:, but I do not think the Pistons showed any heart in that game.

All star appearances mean nothing if you can not deliver in the clutch, as Allen has shown in a few play off games already. Show me the rings....

"Lakers in 5, NUFF SAID"

Again, opinion.

And your counter arguement isn't full of opinions????:screwy:

.

When it comes down to it, any arguement on why the Lakers or Celtics will win boils down to being based on an opinion.

i hope you remember celts had a hard time with the atlanta hawks, cleveland cavs... and detroit showed them they had heart every single game!! so boston may have won big against the lakers during the season,, but this is the finals with the hype of the old rivalry lakers vs, celtics.. hard wood classics re-lived!!! boston better hold their home court down cuz if they dont and lakers steal 1 in boston.. look out CELTIC fans....
lakers in 5!!!:headbang2

I remember everything that has happened this year. Point being, Boston owned just about everyone they played during the season, so they can beat anyone they want. They had a long one with Atlanta and Cleveland, but then they just finished off Detroit, the second best team in the league. Part of the Detroit buckle was caused by Boston as much as Detroit themselves.

Kobeclone;1842145; said:
You talk sh*t on me for saying 2 or 3 KU players will go in the first round, but then you go off and start comparing the reg. season to the finals???

IMO, if Detroit had showed as much heart as Altanta, they would have won in 7. Everyone steps it up in the finals.

:ROFL::ROFL: Owned???? Read this post again! First I believe you said more than 2 or 3 ;) so don't downplay your confidence and arrogance for this one argument's sake. Second, your #1 and #2 are contradicting....YOUNGER....AND MORE EXPERIENCE! Phil and the trainng can have rings, but they're not on the floor ;). Young, inexperienced players make young, inexperienced mistakes. So let me get this straight, Boston is old, and trying to get a ring before they go, but they are inexperienced compared to a young team whom 90% of their PLAYING team has never even been to the playoffs till this year? Give me a break! No one on Boston to provide confidence?!?! You're right, there's no big 3, there's no Posey (one of the most underrated players in the league), there's no Cassell (who though isn't shooting well, he has those rings you're waiving in your post). So you know the coaches confidence in their teams? Yeah, best record in the league has no confidence....Laker's perfect at home, that's a ton better than ONE loss at home. AND THE WHOLE POINT OF MY PREVIOUS POST WAS THAT LA WOULDN'T WIN THE FIRST 2 IN BOSTON. :screwy: Game 5 was a buckle by SA just as m uch as game 6 was a buckle by Detroit. I know who Kobe is, I know what he is capable of. I also know who Boston is, and what they're capable off. For what it's worth, I was joking with you about Kansas, but apparently you're too insecure for it. Sorry. I'm brushing you off my jock right now, cause your rambling proved nothing. Oh, wait........NUFF SAID!

Kobeclone;1842216; said:
Another thing, Both of those 2 games were BEFORE Bynum was hurt and Gasol was aquired. We were a completly different team then...

Yup. Doesn't mean a thing. Also, don't think LA is the only team that's going to step it up because it's the finals, you don't think Boston will as well?.....Damn, you biased little home town kids......

So, you are admitting opinion here, and not fact.

"Lakers have faced 2 championship contenders in the playoffs this year, Utah and SA and never lost a game at home. At home, LA has been golden."

The Cav's were in the Finals last year and took Boston to 7 games, if you think last year doesn't matter then what makes SA or Utah a contender, is that just another opinion? And you misquoted me, I did not say the Piston's WOULD HAVE won the Title, I said they HAVE won the title, check your "facts"
"LA never gives up! When they were down 20 half way thru the 3rd quarter against SA in game 1, did they lay down and quit, NO! Kobe facilitated the offense and put the ball in the basket."

Ah, so antother opinion, up against my actual facts from the game.

The Celtics ahve already won 2 game 7's and a game in Detroit after being down, those are pretty big games.

"Lakers in 5, NUFF SAID"

Again, opinion.

And your side isn't full of opinions????
So, you are admitting that your arguments are full of opinion and not facts, so your earlier point about me not addressin your "facts" doesn't hold water then? Not to mention I shown above how I presented facts, and not opinions.

Wow, you guys use the quotes a whole lot better than I did. I was bouncing up and down on the quote and my post. :D Took me 10 minutes to post...:grinno:

I think that Kobe will average 35 points in this series because the celtics do not have a legit defender to guard him.

I think something like this was said about Lebron, too.....hmmm :D
