for someone who totally destroyed the celtics, you sure didn't win by too many points. Boston didn't lose cause the lakers played better. They lost cause garnett and pierce played so poorly. Still, it was a close game. I definitely think they will pick one up in LA (if not finish it :headbang2:headbang2)

That is a totally flawed and biased statement.;)

Kobe and Sasha destroyed the Celts, no one else. Kobe had 36, Sasha 20, and the rest of the lakers starting five had ONLY 22 points! Kobe tore them up through penitration...

IMO the lakers did play better in a stark contrast to games 1 and 2 where LA was completely out hustled and out played especially defensively.

To get to the biased part of your statement, you only mention KG and Pierce having off games, but yet you no where mention Gasol, Odom, and Fischer missing wide open lay ins and jumpers while being held to 16 points between the 3.... You also don't mention that both teams shot in the 40% range. Both teams had horribly off games with the exceptions of Ray Allen, Kobe, and Vujacic...:)

No way the c's finish it in LA. I think LA wins the next 2 home games by 10-20 points and finishes it out in a very close one in game 6 at boston (this is only if Kobe stays the aggressive, driven individual he was last night and not the jump shooter we saw in games 1 and 2.)

Of course it's a biased statement! I'm cheering for boston LOL. You're equally biased for LA. But I concede, you do have the better argument this time. The only flaw is in saying that boston won't pick up one in LA :raspberry

LOL, agreed. BTW, what's with the smiley banners? Are you promoting the site?

what do you guys think? ive thought for yrs (before the whole donaghy thing came out) that games are fixed. especially after the bucks/atlanta playoff series a few yrs ago (late 90s?). this stuff is to obvious! http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/8231176?MSNHPHMA

I prefer not to think about it. At least right now. It will suck all the fun and excitement I'm having out of the play-offs

:iagree: donaghy is in a heap of $hit right now, he is pretty much doing whatever he can to try and make his situation better.

Couple things.

I also missed the "rainbow" thing, but it's because I didn't know that Sasha's nickname was the "machine", why is it?

To the clone vs. onion thing. The OP said Kobe destroyed the C's. All onion was saying is that if he did, it's not that huge because they only won by a few. I don't think that's really that biased at all. I think that if KG and PP can shoot just a little better, the C's will win, even if the Lakers guys step up.

On the fixing games thing. As a Detroit fan, I'm pretty familiar with this because we've been ringing that bell for a long time. When you have a team thats as good as ours, but doesn't have the "star" players on it, you tend to get frustrated with the refs often. But I'm still not sure that it is true. In that story he references two specific series, LA vs. SAC which I can totally see how someone could think that was "fixed" but SAC was a bunch of chokers anyway, and the guys on that team still choke to this day except Bibby. But, the other series was Dallas vs. Houston, and he alleged that they were "told" to call more fouls on Yao. This really makes no sense for the NBA. Why would they want Dallas over Yao, I mean Yao make more money for the NBA then Dallas does by far. I can't really see how that would benefit the league.
