thats docs initials, the norm before surgery so he does not cut off the wrong testicle per say. or in this case open up the wrong side of the head. he does this with you during pre-op consultation. just before they wheel you in and knock you out.

Oh I'll just bet that it has.I have heard of patients having the wrong leg amputated.

yup, this the reason for the new, but not all that new SOP. I had my shoulder done around 15 years ago, and was in use then.

It definitely makes sense.Also,why they seem to ask the same questions over and over during pre op.

every one on the same page, and that starts with you. I like it, I told my nurse I have tolerance to being knocked out, when the anesthesiologist came in he read it an asked about it. told him I have woke up before, please make sure to keep that in mind, he started putting me down before we left the room, to see how i was going to react to the dose before we got there, not enof to put me out but enof to gauge my tolerance.
