then why kill it? only kill what you will eat. use the Have-a-Heart, capture them and release them in a park somewhere
I already covered why.I used to find them cute and enjoyed having them around but that was before they decided to wage war on my plants....they blew it.

Have a Heart, man.....use a Have-a-Heart :D

they're just animals dude they don't know any better
....right,and my plants can't defend themselves.Look,it's not like I relocated to some remote wooded area out in the sticks somewhere and decided to take out the local wildlife,I live in the inner city.My house sits on a nice sized yard with plenty of trees and shrubs and the squirrels have a plethora of flora to fool around with.

I know, I just don't like seeing animals die in vain. I refuse to even waste meat in my house.....even if it gets older than I prefer, something still eats it

Hello; might be worth checking the rules on this. I do not know of any law/rule against this but?
I haven't had squirrel in many years. back when I was a kid my uncle was a good hunter. My grandmother made some thing like a stew with them. It was good.

Don't know if repellents work but have seen the m in ads. These are supposed to have scent to keep them away. I tried some Ropel (my spelling) years ago trying to keep coons, dogs and such out of my garbage, but it did not work.

Can you tolerate a cat? Might discourage the squirrels but then you have a cat likely to use the flower pots as a litter box. I have taken to giving encouragement to the neighborhood feral cat. I put out a water dish and sometimes food. One of my neighbors has set up conditions that attracts rats so I relent and want a cat around.
I use to discourage the cats because they would raid the nest of my visiting robins. This past spring I kept knocking down the nest as the robins built in my open sided car port. The cats would climb up on my truck to get in the rafters to get the young birds. I also did not like that the birds would relieve themselves on my truck.
After a bunch of times the robins eventually made a nest in the crook of one of my gutter down spout tubes. Had shelter under the eve of the roof and too high for the cat. Worked out well for all of us.

Good morning, cats are useless against them as there are quite a few strays that live in the area,a few neighbors feed and look after them. The squirrels seem to taunt the cats since they are faster and more agile and the cats cannot catch them.
