Hello; Well made point here. This fits my view of the situation fairly well. To boost a person's self-esteem to the point they ignore a health issue seems off to me.

Any advocates for another point of view?
If there are, I'll GLADLY go toe-to-toe with them on the facts.

I see it as a copout pretty much, for those who lack the wherewithal or the discipline required to get themselves into better shape.

ok so this just happened at work haha.

A really weird dude is handing out watermelon for this whole "womens day" thing, looks right at me and my team member and goes "I'd offer you some but you aren't woman"

does that NOT defeat the entire purpose of wanting equality of the genders? And also why is he handing out watermelon to the women who showed up to work clearly not supporting this entire silly protest?

I'd say that's probably at least 90% of the people for sure, the other 10% may just feel like they fit in finally I don't know.

What is the significance of giving women watermelons as opposed to some other fruit....like kiwi or bananas?

apparently the color red is somehow associated with this and I suppose he opted for the closest fruit he could hand out without chucking apples at the women in the office haha. Strawberries probably would have been better however....

Strawberries, hmm. What about chocolate covered cherries....would that be taken the wrong way?

that whole "Im comfortable in my body" stuff is ridiculous...at no point should ANYONE be comfortable being grossly overweight....ever. It isn't a normal thing...its not acceptable to your own body....I don't care if you are fat and have no issue with yourself but don't tell me its normal...a little extra weight is normal and much healthier than skinny...rolls on rolls on rolls is a problem. I hate that mentality. I'll accept you as a person, I refuse to accept what you do to yourself is ok. I'm fairly straightforward as well, PC is the reason kids need a "safe place" to cry if it rains too hard now.

Even if they are "comfortable", please dont dress like youre not fat, no one wants to see that
